A Rare Chinese Blue and White Porcelain 'Dragon' Spittoon, Zhadou, Zhengde Mark and Period

Zhengde Mark and Period (1491-1521)
Of compressed globular form, rising from a short splayed foot to a wide flaring neck, the exterior is painted with two continuous bands of scaly five-clawed dragons weaving through scrolling leafy lotus. The interior of the neck is similarly decorated, all set above a ruyi-head band encircling the foot. The base bears a four-character underglaze-blue mark within a double circle.
