An Unusual Chinese Ming Style Blue and White Porcelain 'Garlic-Bulb' Necked Vase, 18th/Early 19th Century
清中期 明式青花蒜頭瓶
18th/early 19th century
Inspired by early bronze forms, of pear-shaped, with two series of projecting flanges around the neck and the waist, the top pierced with five apertures; decorated in a rich sapphire blue with a series of fret, lappet, and stylized ruyi-head borders; stylized flowers, scrolls, and auspicious symbols to the body, neck and mouth.
