The bowl is decorated on the exterior with an interlocking floral and foliate scroll framing four cartouches centered with the characters Fo Ri Chang Ming “佛日常明” (The Light of Buddha Shines Eternally), all reserved against a yellow ground; the underside with a six-character Daoguang seal mark.
